Texas Congressional District 14 CD 14 Detailed Map (Acrobat PDF) | Find your County Coordinator
The 14th Congressional District has been changed considerably by federal redistricting. Effective for the 2004 Elections, the 14th District includes 10 counties: Aransas, Brazoria (except the city of Pearland), Calhoun, Chambers, the western half of Fort Bend, the eastern half of Galveston, Jackson, Matagorda, Victoria, and Wharton.
The 14th District has the distinction of being literally where Texas began. The first capital of the Republic of Texas was located in Brazoria County. Stephen F. Austin, the founding father of Texas, was from the small town of Jones Creek, located outside of Freeport.
Besides its rich history, the 14th District is also home to a rich diversity of economic interests. From the petrochemical companies and rice farmers along the coast, to ranchers and cotton growers inland, from small businesses to oil producers, the district represents not only a cross-section of Texas' economy, but is vital to the nation.
